The letter or symbol "m" originates from the Middle Egyptian hieroglyph for water. Linguistically, it represents the bilabial nasal sound in various languages. In esoteric traditions, particularly within Kabbalah, "m" is associated with Mem, the 13th Hebrew letter corresponding to the element of water, femininity, and the unconscious mind. Mem is linked to the unconscious depths of the soul and the mysteries of creation. Symbolically, "m" is often seen as a representation of fluidity, intuition, and the subconscious. It has been used in ancient and modern traditions to symbolize water, emotions, depth, and the cyclical nature of life.
How the 27-position alphabet value works
The ancient letter-number system uses 27 positions arranged in three groups of nine: 1–9, 10–90, and 100–900.
To compare English letters with this system, Samekhi/Xi is counted as the missing 15th position between N and O. It occupies the value 60 even though it is not present in the modern English alphabet.
Therefore, A–N use positions 1–14, O–Z use positions 16–27, and each letter receives the number belonging to its position. For example, W falls at position 24, giving it a value of 600.
