And Having Beseeched The Jews With Words As Good As They Are, And Strong In Virtue, Be Moved, And With The Souls Of Young Men, Be Courageous, Judge Not To Join The Army, But Bravely, And After All Bravery, Be Entangled, Judge Things For The City And The Holy And The Sacred Are In Danger.

Παρακληθέντες δὲ τοῖς Ἰούδου λόγοις πάνυ καλοῖς καὶ δυναμένοις ἐπʼ ἀρετὴν παρορμῆσαι καὶ ψυχὰς νέων ἐπανδρῶσαι διέγνωσαν μὴ στρατεύεσθαι γενναίως δὲ ἐνφέρεσθαι καὶ μετὰ πάσης εὐανδρείας ἐμπλακέντες κρῖναι τὰ πράγματα διὰ τὸ καὶ τὴν πόλιν καὶ τὰ ἅγια καὶ τὸ ἱερὸν κινδυνεύειν
